DESCRIPTION: Osphos Injection uses Clodronate, which aids in symptomatic relief of navicular syndrome and slows progression of the disease. It doesn't require dilution, and it comes in an easy and ready-to-use vial.

How is Medication Given?
Administer intramuscularly at a rate of 1.8 mg per kg of body weight. Maximum dosage rate is 900 mg for each horse (which is one full vial). Total dosage volume should be injected between three separate sites. Any unused contents of the vial should be discarded. This product is preservative-free and comes in a one-use vial. If the animal does not respond to the first treatment, re-evaluation is recommended. If improvement of clinical signs does not last for 6 months, re-administer another dose every 3 to 6 months. depending upon symptom recurrence. If improvement is maintained for a 6-month period, re-administer upon recurrence of clinical signs.

Possible Side Effects: In field studies, the following side effects were observed within 2 hours:
Discomfort Nervousness Cramping Pawing Colic 8 out of 10 affected horses experienced symptom resolution after a 10- to 15-minute hand walk. 1 horse's symptoms resolved without being walked. 1 was treated for colic. The colic-treated horse also had hives, which was resolved with Flunixin and Dexamethasone.
