DESCRIPTION:

Phenylbutazone Powder is a synthetic, anti-inflammatory powder musculoskeletal inflammation in horses. It effectively treats muscle strains and sprains, tendonitis, muscle overuse (including muscle damage, tendon damage, and tendon strain), acute strains, acute joint injuries, arthritis, and acute strains.

How is Medication Given?

  • Orally administer a dose of 18 mL (0.6 ounces) in a small portion of feed, combining well.
  • Administer 1-2 level scoops for every 500 pounds of body weight daily.
  • Never administer more than 4 scoops per day.
  • Administer the maximum dose for a 48-hour period, then reduce gradually to a lower maintenance dose.

    What Results Can I Expect? Phenylbutazone Powder offers a tasty citrus flavor, making it easy to top-dress over the horse's daily grain ration. It helps relieve musculoskeletal inflammation.

    What Form Does Medication Come In? Powder

    Dose and Administration: Sold in a jar containing 1.1 pounds or 2.2 pounds of powder.

    Possible Side Effects: Discontinue treatment if you observe:

  • Gastrointestinal upset
  • Jaundice
  • Blood dyscrasia

    Precautions:

  • Not for use in animals with serious hepatic, renal, or cardiac pathology, or to those with a history of blood dyscrasia.
  • Only for equine use.
  • Do not use in horses intended for human consumption.
  • Keep away from children.
  • Do not administer or monitor closely when administering to animals on any other anti-inflammatories, including NSAIDs or corticosteroids.

    Storage Recommendations: Do not freeze. Store in a cool and dry location 15-30 degrees C (59- 86 degrees F)
