About this item
DESCRIPTION:

Apple-Flavored Uniprim Powder contains Trimethoprim and Sulfadiazine, which are two potent antibiotics. The comprehensive formula treats infections with antibacterial and antibiotic activity.

Key Benefits:

  • This powder contains a duo of active ingredients - Sulfadiazine and Trimethoprim.
  • Sulfadiazine inhibits the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid bacteria because it competes against para-aminobenzoic acid. Trimethoprim blocks bacterial tetrahydrofolic acid production from dihydrofolic acid.
  • It reversibly inhibits and binds to dihydrofolate reductase, an enzyme. These ingredients are useful in horses requiring powerful systemic antibacterial action against susceptible organisms.
  • Together, these ingredients double down on the metabolism of bacteria.
  • They deprive bacteria of the proteins and nucleic acids they need to multiply and survive.
  • Uniprim is typically bactericidal, and it is incredibly antibacterial.

Formulated For: Intended for horses only.
