What Form Does Medication Come In? Oral Suspension
Dose and Administration: Sold in a bottle containing 10, 32, 100, or 200 mL.
Possible Side Effects: Potential adverse reactions include: Apathy; Digestive Tract Bleeding; Diarrhea; Vomiting; Inappetence. Most of these effects take place within the initial week of treatment, and they typically disappear when treatment is withdrawn. Rarely, severe, fatal reactions have occurred. Administering with high-protein substances, aminoglycoside antimicrobials, anticoagulants, diuretics, or any other NSAID can cause absorption or binding competition and increase the likelihood of toxicity.
Precautions Do not administer in dogs under 6 weeks old. Not proven safe for use in lactating or pregnant animals. Renal toxicity can result when dogs become hypersensitive to the medication, or if they become hypovolemic or dehydrated. Never administer to a dog showing signs of an adverse reaction, or to dogs with impaired renal function, impaired cardiac function, impaired hepatic function, or gastrointestinal irritation.
