What Results Can I Expect? Palladia is formulated specifically for canine use. It treats a common cancer in dogs known as mast cell tumors. It cuts off the tumor's blood supply, killing the cells of the tumor.
What Form Does Medication Come In? Tablet
Dose and Administration: Tablets are sold individually in strengths of 10 mg, 15 mg, or 50 mg.
Possible Side Effects: Potential adverse reactions are typically gastrointestinal, such as diarrhea and other similar effects. Rarely, a severe or fatal complication has been reported. Gastrointestinal perforation is one example. If you believe that your dog is experiencing a severe side effect, withdraw use and pursue emergency treatment.
Precautions If Palladia is accidentally ingested by a human, immediate medical treatment should be pursued. Have a copy of the product label or insert on hand when pursuing treatment. Accidental ingestion could cause vomiting, diarrhea, or gastrointestinal upset. If you are pregnant, might become pregnant, or are nursing, take extra precautions when handling this medication. This medication prevents the blood vessels from forming in tumors, and it can have a similar effect on the developing fetus' developing blood vessels. This can lead to birth defects. If a pregnant woman accidentally ingests Palladia, adverse reactions are possible. Do not allow a child to come into contact with the vomit, feces, or urine of a treated animal. Store away from children. Only for canine use. Never administer to a human.
