Usage: Latanoprost Ophthalmic Solution should be applied as directed by your veterinarian. Please consult your veterinarian before making any changes to the prescribed dosing schedule. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after application. Pull your petâs lower eyelid down gently, then apply the prescribed number of drops into the pocket between the eyelid and the eyeball. Do NOT allow the tip of the tube to touch any surface, including your hands or your petâs face and eyes, as this will contaminate the sterile surface. If using multiple eye medications or products, separate dosing by at least 5 minutes. Eye drops should be used before eye ointments to allow for proper absorption. Administer the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not apply two doses at once. For general ophthalmic
use.
Storage: Unopened bottles should be stored under refrigeration at 36° to 46°F. Once opened, in–use bottles may be stored in a cool, dry place at a controlled room temperature (up to 77°F) for up to 6 weeks.Discard any unused remainder 6 weeks after opening. Keep tightly closed when not in use and out of the reach of children and pets. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture. The most common side effects of this medication are mild burning, stinging, itching, irritation, or redness of the eyes upon application. Other side effects may include (but are not limited to): blurred vision; increased tear production; eyelash changes including increased growth, thickness, quantity, etc.; or darkening of the iris (irreversible), skin of the eyelids, and⁄or eyelashes. Systemic side effects are considered unlikely with this ophthalmic medication. Contact your veterinarian immediately if your pet exhibits sensitivity to bright lights, or if you notice worsening inflammation and redness of the eyes and⁄or eyelids. Notify your veterinarian if your pet experiences any of the effects described above, or if you notice any other side effects that are persistent or troublesome. If you notice anything unusual, please consult your veterinarian. Do NOT use this medication if the solution changes color, appears cloudy, or contains visible particles. These may be signs that the product is contaminated and no longer fit for use. Use with caution in animals with preexisting inflammation in the eye (iritis or uveitis). Safe use of this medication has not been established in breeding, pregnant, or lactating animals. Do NOT touch the tip of the tube with your hands or allow the tip to touch any surface, including your petâs eyes. Contact with any surface may contaminate the product. Do not administer to animals with a known history or suspected allergy⁄hypersensitivity to this medication or any of its ingredients. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or seek emergency veterinary attention. Symptoms may include (but are not limited to): swollen lips, tongue, face, or airways, difficulty breathing, agitation, profuse salivation, and widespread hives or itching. Ophthalmic medications are applied topically to the eyes and are not absorbed into the body in the same manner as oral or injectable medications. There are no documented drug or food interactions with this medication in animals; however, interactions may still be possible. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Please ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications and supplements that your pet is currently receiving. Your veterinarian may prescribe multiple medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In these instances, your veterinarian may adjust the dosages or monitor your pet more closely.
