DESCRIPTION: Furosemide Oral Solution, a generic alternative to Salix, is used to treat heart failure and lung fluid (pulmonary edema). It is also used to treat specific electrolyte imbalance cases, including those caused by high levels of calcium or potassium.

Furosemide increases the volume of water and salt removed from the animal's blood by his or her kidneys. The extra water and salt are then excreted by the animal's urine.

If you observe any allergic reaction symptoms, withdraw treatment and pursue emergency treatment:

Other reactions are also possible. Consult your vet about any signs that appear unusual or bothersome to your pet.
Precautions:
Do not administer to pets with an electrolyte imbalance, with severe depletion of electrolytes, or those who are anuric (unable to produce urine). Administer cautiously to animals with decreased liver function, diabetic animals, or dehydrated animals. Animals experiencing vomiting or diarrhea should be monitored carefully, as electrolyte imbalances may develop as a result of this medication. Humans who are Sulfonamide-hypersensitive may experience the same reaction with this medication. Animals have not been tested to determine if this is the case for animals. In laboratory animals, this drug presented fetal risk, and was also found in the breast milk.
Storage Recommendations: Do not freeze. Store in a cool and dry location (59 degrees - 86 degrees F)
