DESCRIPTION:

Malaseb Shampoo is an antibacterial and antifungal formula. This optimally-effective shampoo is a great choice for dogs, cats, or horses with dermatological conditions caused by infections susceptible to Miconazole Nitrate and/or Chlorhexidine Gluconate.

    How is Medication Given? 1) Use water to thoroughly wet animal's coat. 2) Generously apply shampoo on every part of the body. 3) Lather well. 4) Leave shampoo on for 10 minutes. 5) Repeat two times each week until the condition is controlled. Thereafter, apply weekly, or follow your veterinarian's specific directions for use.

    What Results Can I Expect? Malaseb is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It treats a variety of conditions, including flaky skin, dry skin, severe pruritus, infections, and seborrhea.

    What Form Does Medication Come In? Shampoo

    Dose and Administration: Sold in bottles containing 8 fluid ounces, 16 fluid ounces, or 1/2 gallon (64 fluid ounces).

    Possible Side Effects: The most frequently reported side effects are:

  • Hives or redness covering the entire body
  • Excessive itching (resulting from an excessive histamine release by the body)
  • Swollen face, throat, or nose due to a severe allergic reaction, which can quickly become an emergency situation.

    Precautions:

  • Malaseb contains chemicals that can cause severe eye irritation or burning of a dog's eyes. This can lead to an infection. If eye contact occurs, flush thoroughly with water and pursue emergency veterinary treatment. Permanent eye changes can occur when this product makes contact with the eye.
  • Never apply this product near your pet's nose. If fumes are aspirated, lung and respiratory tract irritation can occur, which can also cause the throat to swell and lead to trouble breathing.

    Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool and dry location. Do not freeze.
