DESCRIPTION:

Tresaderm is a solution containing Neomycin Sulfate, Dexamethasone, and Thiabendazole. It is approved by the FDA for the treatment of otitis externa (external ear canal infection and/or inflammation) and many localized conditions affecting the skin. With a comprehensive antibiotic, an antifungal, and a corticosteroid, which work together to treat susceptible bacterial infections, fungal infections, and inflammation of the skin and ear. The topical formula is available in a convenient dropperette bottle for ease of use. It should be used as early as possible to mitigate worsening inflammation, and it's an easy treatment option for your pet and for you!

How is Medication Given?

  • Before use, remove any foreign matter or crust from the affected ear canal(s).
  • Your veterinarian will prescribe a dose that meets your pet's need, based on the extent and severity of his or her lesions. Typically, this dosage rate will fall within the range of 5 to 15 drops instilled two times each day.
  • To treat dermatoses that affects more than the ear's surface, each lesion should be thoroughly moistened using 2-4 drops for every square inch using this solution two times per day. Total volume will be based on the lesion's size.
  • Container is designed so allow for safe partial insertion for easy administration into the ear canal(s).

    What Results Can I Expect? Tresaderm is safe for cats and dogs, and it's used to treat fungal and bacterial otitis externa (ear infections) and skin infections, and the formula is easy to use.

    What Form Does Medication Come In? Liquid

    Dose and Administration: Sold in a bottle containing 7.5 or 15 mL.

    Possible Side Effects: Topical corticosteroid use rarely causes a systemic adverse reaction. However, when used for prolonged periods or extensively, certain reactions are possible. If you observe signs of salt and water retention or potassium excretion, withdraw treatment and work to correct electrolyte and fluid imbalances. Such signs include:

  • Increased thirst
  • Weakness
  • Lethargy
  • Oliguria (low output of urine)
  • Gastrointestinal upset
  • Tachycardia

    Precautions:

  • Do not administer for more than 1 week.
  • Read the full product insert before use.
  • Rarely, product application can cause discomfort or erythema in the application area. This may last 24 to 48 hours.
  • Only for topical application in cats and dogs.
  • Keep out of reach of animals and children.

    Storage Recommendations: Refrigeration is required between 36 - 46 degrees F (2 degrees C and 8 degrees C).
