DESCRIPTION:Metoclopramide increases stomach or intestinal movement or contraction. It is used to treat nausea, vomiting, and reflux disease.
Key Benefits:
Metoclopramide stimulates upper gastrointestinal tract motility without stimulating gastric, biliary, or pancreatic secretions. Although the mode of action is unknown, Metoclopramide is believed to sensitize the tissue to the action of Acetylcholine. The effect of this drug on motility is not dependent upon intact vagal innervation. It can be eliminated with anticholinergic drugs.
