DESCRIPTION: Itrafungol Oral Solution contains Itraconazole, an antifungal. It is approved by the FDA to treat ringworm in cats (feline dermatophytosis) caused by Microsporum canis.
Key Benefits:
Itraconazole is a synthetic, broad-spectrum antimycotic from the triazole class. It combats eumycetes (such as Aspergillus spp.) and zygomycetes, dermatophytes (like Trichophyton spp. and Microsporum spp.), yeast (Candida spp and Malassezia spp.) and several dimorphic fungi. It binds to fungal cytochome p-450 enzymes, inhibiting synthesis of ergosterol. It also affects membrane permeability and membrane-bound enzyme function. This is an irreversible effect, which causes structure degeneration.
