DESCRIPTION:

Clindamycin is an easy-to-administer capsule that treats bone, dental, and soft tissue infections associated with bacterial overgrowth.

How is Medication Given?

  • Follow your veterinarian's directions when using this product.
  • Never use this medication without veterinarian approval.
  • Typical recommended dosage rate for cats is 5 mg to 15 mg for every pound of body weight administered at 24-hour intervals.
  • Typical recommended dosage rate for dogs is 2.5 mg to 15 mg for every pound of body weight administered at 12-hour intervals for no more than 28 days.

    What Results Can I Expect? Clindamycin is used to treat:

  • Abscesses
  • Wounds
  • Dental Infections <’i>Osteomyelitis (Bone Infections) in Dogs
  • Tissue Infections
  • Other Types of Infection

    What Form Does Medication Come In? Capsules

    Dose and Administration: Capsules are sold individually in strengths of 300 mg, 150 mg, or 75 mg.

    Possible Side Effects: Consult your veterinarian to disclose all medications (including minerals, vitamins, supplements, over-the-counter drugs, and prescription drugs) your pet is taking and confirm that they are safe for concomitant use with Clindamycin. Your pet's medical history should also be considered prior to use, as it can have an effect on the pet's response to the drug.

    Precautions:

  • Typically, Clindamycin is just as potent and safe in conjunction with other medications as it is when administered independently. However, be sure to talk to your vet about all the medications, minerals, vitamins, and supplements your pet is taking to confirm safety.
  • Allergic reactions are possible. Talk to your veterinarian to discuss potential allergies to lincomycin orclindamycin.
