We have three litter boxes filled with about one inch of the straw. My GP would go in and sit there at time just to enjoy the bedding and she would eats some pellets especially when it is fresh of the bag. We do the easy cleaning of her litter boxes about twice a day just because it is EASIEST when it is damp! If we didn't get to it and already dry, we just use plastic spoon and pick up what we can. Usually in 4-5 days we separate the still good pellets by shaking (the dust goes to the bottom). We then wash the litter box with vinegar and let dry then put the salvage pellets in first and top off with the fresh one. Our GP absolute love its natural fresh scent bedding and would go in just to sit. This a great product if you are will to work around its disadvantage. Btw, the wetting do goes to the bottom, so the top bedding stay dry, and that is one of the big advantage of this straw pellets.
Date published: 2012-11-05

Rated 5 out of 5 by guineapigluver101 from AMAZING!!!! I LOVE this product I bought it when they stopped selling my favorite bedding Eco bedding in the store so I bought this because I have had success with pelleted beddings before for my guinea pigs and rabbits. And this product worked amazingly. There was minimal smell and spot cleaning was made easy. The only con was that if you missed some spots when spot cleaning they would become dust and it made cleaning a little more dusty but overall the only wish I have is that they sell it in an even bigger bag. My 4 cages take up about 2 bags because they are giant c&c layouts.
Date published: 2012-07-23

Rated 1 out of 5 by o4o6o5 from not for rabbits I bought this for my himmilain rabbit and once I change it,with in 12 hours it smells like ammonia. The only thing that I don't like is that when Theodore (my Guinea Pig) pees in the same spot, the litter clumps together into a pile that smells like urine, which makes him smell like urine. I think this litter would be great for cages that have a grate, so the clumps don't make your pet smell, and would probably work well for a cat, but this litter is not for me or Theodore.
Date published: 2014-03-20

Rated 1 out of 5 by Boomchicaboomboom12 from Wasn't good and wasn't worth it I have two lion head rabbits that I got this litter for. One of the rabbits at first tried eating a few pieces when I first placed a thin layer in the litter box. The other rabbit hopped in the litter box and started kicking it out. Both rabbits eventually used the bathroom in the litterbox with this litter, but as soon as they did, the wheat straw became a mushy, stinky, mess. The corn litter I used before masked urine odors better than this stuff. This product also sticks to the bottom of the litter box like cement. After the first litter box change I tried scrubbing this stuff out and it has NEVER fully come out. It sucks that I got stuck with having to buy a huge bag of this product whereas If I could have been able to try a smaller sized bag I would have known immediately that this wasn't what I was looking for. The only plus side of this product is that it's eco friendly.
Date published: 2018-09-10

Rated 5 out of 5 by MrDaisey from great product but..."to each his own" 7 rabbits have shared our family home over the years. As any buddy of these small guys knows, they eat #or try to eat# EVERYTHING. So, finding a litter that won't hurt them is important. This stuff mimics what they already eat. It won't hurt them. That said if you want a litter that: Cleans itself. Sifts itself. Doesn't have any odor. OK. When you find it let us all know. My little pal's safety is everything to me. So my only problem with this litter ? My Petsmart store no longer carries the BIG bags. If they don't resume stocking it I'll order online.
Date published: 2014-06-26

Rated 3 out of 5 by kaw58 from Pros and Cons I have pros and cons about this litter, I'm not sure if I would buy it again or not. Pros: The rabbit likes it. It doesn't smell. I forgot to change her litter box for a full week because it didn't smell at all. Even as I dumped it out, it wasn't the overwhelming urine smell there usually is with the paper pellet litter. It still just smelled (mostly) like wheat. It does soak up the urine and it doesn't stick to the bottom of the litter box. Cons: The pellets fall apart when they gets wet. It doesn't clump, it just turns into powdery mush. I don't know how one would scoop it out. After just a couple days, there's no more pellets in the box, just the wheat powder mush. The wet litter turns to dust when it dries out, and the rabbit kicks it everywhere, making a big mess. Sweeping has become more difficult.
Date published: 2016-01-24

Oxbow Eco-Straw Pelleted Wheat Straw Small Animal Litter Reviews - page 2

y_2020, m_2, d_28, h_16

bvseo_bulk, prod_bvrr, vn_bulk_3.0.5

cp_1, bvpage1

co_hasreviews, tv_0, tr_20

loc_en_US, sid_1836, prod, sort_[SortEntry(order=HELPFULNESS, direction=DESCENDING), SortEntry(order=POSITIVE_FEEDBACK, direction=DESCENDING), SortEntry(order=SUBMISSION_TIME, direction=DESCENDING)]

clientName_petsmart

bvseo_sdk, dw_cartridge, 18.2.0, p_sdk_3.2.0

CLOUD, getReviews, 138ms

reviews, product
