Ask a store associate for details. Gouramis are hardy fish that are popular with fish keepers because of their unique coloration and color patterns. They work best in a semi-aggressive community aquarium. They are compatible with other community fish, as well as angelfish, discus and other non-aggressive cichlids. Remember, only one male gourami per community. You will see your gouramis swimming in the middle and at the top of your aquarium. To create a beautiful aquarium environment, be sure to add some bottom swimmers as well. Ask a PetSmart associate to help you choose.

Vietnam-Thailand: Moderately decorated with live plants, driftwood and rocks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from to big this fish i have had for 7 years and i think it has grown past the maximumn fish size. I feed it goldfish food and it is 10 inches right now i had to move i to a 75 gallon tank because my 50 gallon tank was to small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great and can work in different tanks This fish looks great under lights and it can live in community or semi-aggressive tanks. The Opaline Gourami is a very durable but good looking fish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timid, but great Purchased 2 opal one/blue dwarf and 2 Red fire dwarf gourami a couple days ago. They occupy a 55 gallon tank, with a 3" powder blue gourami and 2 bristle nose plecostomus. Water circulation by 2 Aquaclear 301 Powerheads and 2 Magnum 350 canister filters, one with Carbon, one with polishing cartridge. Added a nice, gnarly piece of Savannah drift wood to the tank about 5 days ago as well. A slight tint that makes the fish look a little better! And provides a couple of interesting places to hide. Planning to add 2 blue and 3 red in the near future. And maybe up to 20 Tetra, or equivalent a little later also. Hope this will help bring current fish more into the open. Dark coloration, assuming happy/healthy, especially considering how bad this tank was a week ago!! Definitely worth getting. Would suggest at least 5 or more though. Providing tank is large enough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Fish These fish are very hardy and are not too picky about the water. They make a great starter fish for new tank owners and as test fish for new tanks. The fish prefer to be in pairs but they MUST be close in size otherwise after several days the larger one will for some unknown reason become intent on killing the other. I was actually forced to separate the two of them and eventually return the larger one. It took less than 48 hours for the smaller one to recover from being used as a fish chew toy! Overall great fish for all levels of experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Fish! this fish goes great with about every fish! I have three and they just chill at the bottom of my 50 gallon, and enjoy picking at the gravel. The chase the mollys from time to time, and the mollys will chase them! haha... very good fish!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love them! all males I have an ALL MALE tank... Fish people say NEVER to do this... but none of my fish ever fight... all of my (6 MALE) gouramis get along, Im thinking this is because i dont have any females in my tank to fight over? I have 2 opaline gouramis, 2 blue and gold gouramis and 2 dwarf gouramis. I LOVE them!! they have personalities and are very active fish! they get along well with my hatchet fish, my corys, my peacock eel and my Raphael catfish (and of course they never bother my 2 bristle nose plecotomases) I would recommend gouramis to anyone!! they are fun to watch and NOT shy fish, mine are at the front of the tank when its feeding time and are always ALL OVER they dont just stay at the top bottom or center... they literally have used every square inch in my tank! I also have a TON (maybe to many) of plants so this might help too with it being an all male tank... I dunno why all my fish go against what everyone says but i am in love with my tank/fish!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Great Fish For A Beginner! We have had this fish for a week although he was extremely shy when we first got him he now will let you watch him as long as we don't chase him around the aquarium making lots of racket. Ours has a even more beautiful pattern than the icon above! It is light blue with dark blue stripes, I always say it looks like the marines camouflage. It is easy to take care of as well which makes it a amazing fish for most anybody!

Do these get along with the gold ones

Asked by: Noitsnot
They should, I keep my 2 with some flame gouramis and the little flame goramis are dwarfs and seem to be the dominant ones. Don’t worry if you see them pecking at each other they are just establishing a pyramid of who is above who and it shouldn’t escalate.

Sorry to bother anyone, but what do these guys eat? Thank you.

Asked by: AxiesAllTheWay

What do these guys eat? And mine don't seem happy they stay on the top corner of the tank, should I take them back or will they adjust to there new home?
