All nerites are good algae eaters, but these horned nerites are the best ever! I have two (so far) and they completely cleaned off a LARGE algae-encrusted cave ornament in a week's time. They zeroed in on the ornament when I introduced them to the tank, and they stayed there hoovering up every speck green. They are now creating clean trails on the back of my aquarium. They do not damage plants, like ramshorns, neither do they reproduce. They do lay tiny white eggs randomly all over, but they don't hatch.
