Rated 5 out of 5 by from GLOFish Tetras I have a school of 7 skirt tetras in my 46 gal aquarium right now. I have 2 regular black skirts tetras that are over 4 years old, 2 long finned black skirts & 3 GloFish skirt tetras (pink, orange, & green). They all school together. These GloFish are white skirts that are born with fluorescent color so they will school with other skirt tetras. They are very hardy fish, very active, they like my pH, & they're not so small you can't see them. These GloFish really glow under Blue LED lights & they are also pretty under regular lighting, very colorful. They are best kept in schools of 5 or more. If you keep only 1-2 they will be less active & hide a lot. GloFish tetras are one of my favorite fish & I always keep some of them in my aquarium. I highly recommend them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "GLOFISH" Awesome Viberant Colorful Fish I have 3 of each color GLOFISH in my 30 gal tank along with 1 Painted Tetra & 2 corys & 4 otocinclus. Their the next best thing to having a colorful saltwater tank without dealing with the salt & water. Our tank sits near my husbands lazy chair who is disabled and finds it relaxing to watch the fish. He has one that is his favorite, Purple one that seems to have lil different color than the rest. I want to add there are 2 totally different lines of colored tetra that I have had:(1)GLOFISH which keeps its color and (2)PAINTED Tetra which fades over time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They've been my babies- good choice for sum difnt I've had 4 neon glofish- orange, green, purple, and pink and they all have different personalities. My purple - the slow n steady, the observer. My orange -the alpha male, active leader. My pink-the passive one, second in command. My green- the push over, timid one. Fish live in a different world than ours, but psychologically there are still those who second guess themselves and those who don't think twice. It's so interesting. Just change the water bimonthly and feed them atleast once everyday. Having some type of bubbler for the tank-it supplies oxygen and carbon throughout the tank water. I've had mine for a year and without the black light they are still their vibrant colors not silver. Whoever said that- they need to wiki glofish..these fish aren't painted. buy atleast 4-otherwise these fish become territorial Have fun- enjoy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from little fish, big personality I had got a green glofish tetra a while ago and would like to say that these fish look amazing! Their color is vibrant even without a black light and they have personalities: some are shy, some are outgoing, some are scared of the light and others thrive in it. So no matter how many of these fellas you get, their going to have separate personalities and will look amazing with any tank mates!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good I got a orange, green, and this purple. The purple seems to be a little shyer and more reserved than the others.

I have a 16 gal tank how many glo fish will fit perfect in a 16 gal tank

Asked by: Pretty Black
They say only one gallon per inch, and they grow to be 2 inches long. So I wouldn't do more than 8 in a 16 gal tank.

Is a 1.5 gallon tank too small for a GloFish

Asked by: Michelle2013
I believe all the "official" GloFish are schooling, so you'd want ~5+ to keep them happy, which would require a larger tank. Technically a single fish would work, but at that aquarium size it might be more kind to simply select a colorful Betta fish.
