RenaPlus is used to help supplement potassium gluconate in potassium-deficient animals. It is available in powder, tablets, or gel which allows for easy administration.

RenaPlus is: a prescription potassium gluconate supplement that helps provide extra potassium to dogs and cats who have low potassium levels. Potassium deficiency is often a result of kidney disease but can result from other medical problems. It is an electrolyte necessary to maintain almost all cellular functions, including the transmission of nerve impulses and the contraction of muscles.

What are the benefits?
1.Safe and effective generic alternative to Tumil-K;2.Available in multiple forms (powder, tablets, or gel) so it is easy to give to most pets;3.Replenishes potassium levels for proper body function.

    What outcomes can be expected?

RenaPlus should help potassium levels in the blood and in the cells to return to normal. It can take several days to achievenormal potassium levels. RenaPlus usually needs to be given long-term in most cases.

Who is it for: multiple species including dogs and cats.

    How is it given?

    1. RenaPlus should be given exactly according to your veterinarians specific instructions.

    2. All supplements are given by mouth preferably with food and the dosage is usually based on body weight.

    3. If you do not understand how to give RenaPlus correctly, contact your veterinarian.

How does it work? RenaPlus works to treat hypokalemia (low potassium levels) by providing a source of potassium in animals who cannot maintain normal levels on their own.

RenaPlus is available as: an oral tablet, powder, and gel.

Generic Name:Potassium gluconate;(Common Drug Name) RenaPlus (Generic)

    Common Brand Name:Tumil-K

Dose and Administration:Always follow your veterinarians instructions. Dosing is typically based onbody weight. If you miss a dose, give it as soon as you remember but never give two doses at once. RenaPlus should only be given to the pet it has been prescribed for, Always speak to your veterinarian if you have questions about how to correctly give RenaPlus to your pet.

Uses:RenaPlus is used to provide pets with the potassium they need when they suffer from hypokalemia (low blood potassium). Low potassium levels are common in animals with kidney (renal) problems and can also occur as a result of other medical conditions.

Storage:RenaPlus should be stored at room temperature out of reach from animals, pets, and children.

Possible Side Effects: RenaPlus is generally very safe when it is used as prescribed. It can cause nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea but these side effects can be minimized when given with food. Other side effects are possible. Call your veterinarian right away if your pet is acting ill while he/she is taking RenaPlus.

Precautions:Animals with high blood potassium levels (hyperkalemia) should not take RenaPlus. If your pet suffers from severe kidney disease, acute dehydration, untreated Addison's disease (hypoadrenocorticism), or hemolysis (breakdown of red blood cells), this supplement should not be given. Use should also be avoided in animals with constipation. Caution should be used in animals with heart disease especially if Digoxin is being given as treatment.
