Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for diabetic cats! Last year my cat was diagnosed as a diabetic. At first I gave him the cat food prescribed by my vet, but then I went to PetSmart and found Blue Buffalo Wilderness and slowly changed him over to that. Within the year he went from using 5 units of insulin twice a day to NONE! His sugar level is at 107, and he is regulated solely by diet. He loves the chicken flavor best, but I do give him the duck, for variety. Next I'll buy the salmon. His coat is shiny and he plays like he did when he was young. I've told my vet about it and 3 other people who all have diabetic cats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a change in my kittiy's health! I have a 13 year old kitty who was diagnosed with diabetes 2 years ago. She was put on a prescription diet by the vet and I watched her go down hill. She was getting insulin injections twice a day, her fur was matted, greasy and her skin was flaking terribly. She was also having trouble walking. I thought she was not long for this world. I decided to try Blue Buffalo Wilderness after reading some positive reviews. That was 4 months ago. Kitty is doing so much better. She is no longer on insulin injections. Her fur has it's old luster, no longer greasy, no flaking skin. She is moving about the house more freely and climbing up on the furniture again to see what her people are doing. I would recommend Blue Buffalo to anyone who care about their pets health and well being.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diabetic cat loves it We started buying this brand after one of our cats was diagnosed as being diabetic. After researching what we could do to help lower his sugar and carb intake, we learned about Blue Buffalo and have been buying it ever since. We buy a few different flavors and all of our cats seem to like all of them as they eat with no complaints!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good for my cats I have two cats, one of which is a Siamese with a delicate stomach. Since switching to Blue Buffalo Wilderness, I am not cleaning up vomit piles everyday. Their coats are shiny, their energy levels are good. This food is a little pricey, but my cats are worth the expense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best food ever!! "My 10-yr-old Maine Coon, Daisy, was diagnosed with diabetes a year plus ago. We can't do the insulin route, so decided to change her diet and love her as long as we had her. She was overweight (18 lbs.), although we tried everything to keep it down and fed the best (weight-management) dry food we could buy. Started researching and looking for a better food. Almost all catfoods (even prescription diabetes foods) have corn and wheat--which I am now convinced should not be in catfood and made my cat fat. Problem was my cats didn't like anything good for them--even canned. I saw a man buying Wilderness food at Petsmart and noticed the bag said "Low Carb. No Corn, Wheat or Soy." and asked him if his cats liked it. He said yes, they really did. It was a relatively easy transition and my 2 cats have been eating it for over a year--even the 8 lb.one, who never had a problem metabolizing corn. Daisy now weighs 10 lbs. and is maintaining her weight there. Her back legs are weak, but haven't gotten worse. In fact may be better. She goes up stairs and has started jumping up on chairs again. She is still diabetic and pees excessively, but the vet says she is healthier now than when she was fat. I totally attribute it to the food. They like the chicken and the duck. Yea Blue Wilderness!"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best food if your cat has digestive tract issues This year I finally caved in and bought blue, because it has taurine and thiamine, two of the vitamins and minerals that are essential in maintaing my maine coons digestive itract ssues. He LOVES it! Now I can actually get his spoiled furry butt to eat at least 1 cup of dry food a day, verse before he was only eating less than 1/4 a cup of iams(he hated every dry food I tried to give him, except for 9 lives, but thatmade his breath smell disgusting). Blue is by far the best dry food product on the market, and the healthiest thing for all domestic cats' to be eating, including the more exotic breeds of domestic cats. I recommend this to all cat owners. It is a tad pricey but anything healthy is more expensive. Blue is most definetely true to their word on all ingredients. This food is worth it, and your cat wont waste a bite of it! He also gets 9 lives wet food for dinner, because he enjoys that as well. Its not the best for him, but we all deserve something we crave once in a while :P

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blue Buffalo Wilderness Cat Food- Duck My 2 year old bicolor DLH LOVES this food. I adopted her from the shelter a few months ago, and I have changed her food a few times. She does not seem to be a very picky eater like my other cats have been. Our issue was BAD gas. Every single time we would pick her up, an awful stench would fill the air. Her litter box smelled like... well... you know. So we tried different foods. Finally, I decided that the culprit was the unnecessary grains in all that junk cat food out there. It doesn't make sense; mostly grains in a CARNIVORE'S food? I had originally intended on creating a raw diet regimen, but as a student, I really can't commit that kind of time. Blue Wilderness seemed to be the obvious choice. Much more expensive, yes. But I couldn't bear the thought that my kitty had a tummy ache all the time from that junk. I chose the duck variety; I've had cats in the past who really don't care for fish, so the salmon variety was out. Chicken seemed too commonplace- I wanted to give her a new taste to try out. Upon opening the bag of food, a very strong scent just about knocked my socks off. It smells just like the fish food you get out of the vendors at fish hatcheries. Stinky stuff, but cats seem to like that. The food is great to touch. Not oily or greasy like all the other foods are. Of course, the piggy that she is, Minnie dug right in. She gets very excited whenever her bowl is filled up. She looks at me and watches the food come closer and closer. Sometimes the anticipation is too much for her and she just slaps my hand as if to say, "Hurry up!" The great thing is that she is no longer gassy and her stool has remained solid and has gotten less stinky. I also have to clean it out less. She has good energy and seems to be a lot happier. Bottom line- This is absolutely worth the splurge. It's food that you're proud to serve to your cat. They will thank you for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from #1 Cat Food Choice Blue Buffalo Wilderness is the absolute #1 brand of cat food I would suggest to EVERY household. I have nine cats--yes that IS a lot of mouths to feed and I had to figure out which food lasted them the longest and which was the healthiest for them. Let me start off by saying that Purina, Fancy Feast, Meow Mix (especially), and 9 Lives are probably the most inexpensive brands you will find in any pet store but let me also say that it took all nine cats one week exactly to go through the biggest bag of each of those brands. So I started looking at the nutritional content of those brands and not surprisingly, it was seriously lacking and mostly made up of the feline world's version of "junk food". So I did some research on healthy feline diet and discovered that the food with the most PROTEIN and the lowest carb content would be the best. So I tried out Blue for Indoor Cats and it took mine a week and a half to go through the biggest bag. That was good, but still not good enough so I researched further and found that grain products in food are actually unnatural in the feline's diet--so I tried out Blue Buffalo Wilderness which contains no chicken or poultry by-products, no grains, and no unnatural preservatives and have found that it takes TWO weeks for all my cats to go through a TWELVE LB. bag of Blue Buffalo Wilderness verses ONE week through a TWENTY Lb. bag of Purina. Also, because Blue Buffalo Wilderness is so healthy, the cats have healthier body weights now and their fur is glossy and beautiful--enriched with all the vitamins and minerals contained in this brand of cat food. My cats LOVE it and I wouldn't change it for anything!
