Trixie Window Home Cat Tower is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cats love it I set it up in my house and my cats love to play in it. I put a cat bed on the top and they love to jump up on it and sleep on it. My shy cats also love to run around inside it. It is very solidly built and I would recommend it for anyone with cats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicely done, assembly tip I was a little concerned about buying a Trixie product because a cat tree I previously bought had a broken part packed neatly in the box and I have been unable to get that part replaced. With that said, I am delighted by this cat home. There are not very many parts to deal with and they are easy to tell apart. The screws come attached to a card showing their designations as B, C, D, etc. One extra of each screw is provided which is a very nice touch. Almost every part is joined by connecting pre placed dowels into pre drilled holes then securing the construction with a couple of screws. The dowels hold everything in place while you work and eliminate most possibilities of user error. One odd thing: the middle/lower shelf has a deep groove cut across the front for no apparent purpose but to collect dirt. I tried turning it over so the groove faced down but that won't work with the pre-drilled attachment hole on the left wall. So there is an odd groove across the entire front of the shelf just in front of where the door line is when doors are open. I bought two of these and found that the part in the second package is the same, so there must be some reason for the groove but I cannot imagine what that would be. The entire assembly of my first unit took about an hour. 20-30 minutes of that, however, were spent screwing the plastic 'feet' to the bottom. This is where I had to use my brain. I have attached a photo of a foot. It is a block of tough plastic 1 1/8 inch deep part that attaches to the bottom of the structure, with a rounded part that contacts the ground and is irrelevant to this explanation. Three 1/2 inch screws attach each foot. Thus, the screw must go trough a narrow opening some distance (5/8 inch) before it makes contact with the wood into which it is to be screwed. (See photo). I am very much a lay person when it comes to tools and putting things together. I do not have a drill extension that would allow me to fasten these screws with a drill so at least for me, they have to be hand tightened. Then comes the problem of getting the half inch screw down the somewhat narrow channel and into the even smaller hole. This is not possible without fastening the screw to the screwdriver. The slight magnetization of my screwdriver is not enough to accomplish this. I was able to do the job using an adhesive putty made for attaching papers to walls and whatnot. What I had handy was "Handi-Tak" and it is pictured in the foot photo. I have a similar product called Loctite Fun-Tak. Also "earthquake putty" would work just fine. It took a tiny amount of putty to secure the screw to the screwdriver securely enough to place the screw and set it. Usually the bit of putty came back to me on the screwdriver and could be reused, except once when the putty chose to remain with the screw. I believe that without this or a similar solution it would be impossible to attach the feet with the half inch screws (and longer screws would pierce the bottom panel leaving sharp bits sticking up). Even after the logistics were conquered it took me almost as much time to place and tighten the screws as the entire rest of the assembly because there are twelve of them and it was not easy (for me) to accomplish hand tightening while keeping the screws straight in the narrow chamber. Other than the feet the assembly is a breeze. I put the finished unit in my entryway while I opened the box for the second unit. Within a minute I looked up to find my 16 pound cat, Charlie, inside, on the lower shelf, with his head sticking out of the little doors, just like an advertisement. (Photo attached). This is notable, assuming Charlie entered through the side cat door and not through the opening he was looking out of. The side cat door is 7" high by 6.25" wide, no surprise that Charlie could pass through that. But to get up to either of the two internal shelves a cat must pass through openings that are 5.25" by 5.5", probably a challenge for the monstrous Charlie. The front opening, by the way, is 8" high and 6.75" wide and as you can see, generously accommodates Charlie's head and neck. Also, FYI, the three inside compartments made by the two shelves are about 11" high each, enough for most cats I would think. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this product although I have yet to see how it will hold up through time and to the weather, to the extent it is exposed while located in places like my covered porch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from kitties and kitty toys I bought because it nice to have fun, decorative kitty play things. The house was given a window for top and second floor and I added two more entrances, for the same floors. This takes caution tho, as the wood panels are slats. Might void warranty, but I am using inside. Love the ending result and the kitties like it. Picture frames were used for windows and added openings. A hot glue gun was used to affix. I loved the design before updating and enjoy the new results.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cat wont't go in it to save it''s life First of all the finish would not hold up outside. Whitewash pine is not weatherproof. So I took the time to paint it with an exterior paint. Though in retrospect I shouldn't have wasted time and money, as neither my indoor cars nor outdoor cats will step foot in it. It has been sitting outside for a month now. Temp gets down into the 30''s at night. Cat wound rather sit under an overturned box then get into this house. I may have gotten a discount on it, but it was the biggest waste of money.
