I've had this heater for 3 months now and it has been perfect for my 3 gal male betta tank. It keeps the water around 76-78 degrees all the time. My betta recently got fin rot and I moved him to a 1/2 gal iso tank to treat it. I placed the heater in the 1/2 gal anticipating a temp spike, but I was pleased to find the tank maintaining a temp of 82 degrees consistently throughout the week in the iso tank.
Green light when at ideal temp.
Orange light when heating.
Product is great for .5-3 gal tanks. If you jump to a 5 gal, I would recommend a different heater.

On the positive side, this water heater has a thermostat, which most low wattage heater don't. However, in a small 1.2 gal tank with water recirculation pump it maintains 83 degrees instead of the advertised 77. I have have purchased three of these across two tanks, and all stay at 83 degrees. Interestingly, one day my daughter unplugged the water pump by mistake and like magic this kept the water at 77 degrees. So apparently, it's calibrated to with no circulation, assuming it's hotter near the water heater (83) and cooler in the rest of the tank (77), whereas with circulation, you are keeping the entire tank the same temperature (83). I think most people have a water pump, so this is an issue. 83 is the high end ideal for tropical fish, so I just live with it -- it's better than other heaters without thermostats which will cook a fish in a small tank. Note, this is identical to the Grreat Choice 10W heater (same manufacturer and design), just 15W -- both work the same with the same overheating (the 15W just warms up faster and can handle a bigger tank).

I bought this heater for my betta's 1 gal fish bowl. It fits perfectly inside the bowl thanks to its small suction cups on the back and tucks neatly behind all the decorations and plants. It has a small light at the top that shows when it's heating up (orange) or when it's just keeping the water stable (green).
The heater is really easy to remove from the tank as well and clean, just a quick rinse or swipe from a cloth and it's ready to be submerged into the tank again. You can even place it at the bottom of the tank if you please too.
This is a fantastic little heater for smaller aquariums. I recommend this especially for bettas and other small tropical fish.

I bought this to use in a 2.5 gallon tank that houses a male Betta fish and three White Cloud Mountain minnows. Even when our house is at 68 degrees, it keeps the water temperature at a perfect 75 degrees (which is what you want when housing these two species together). The heater works to keep the water at 77 degrees and cuts itself off when that temperature is reached. Since it is a solid plastic construction and completely submersible, you don't need to worry about your fish being poisoned by the stuff used in cheaper glass heaters, nor is there a risk of electrocution as long as you create a standard drop loop (Google it). I'm very satisfied with the build quality and workmanship that went into the creation of this heater. I will be purchasing more TopFin brand equipment as I grow into the hobby more. A++++++++++
