Overall I'm happy with this gravel. It looks excellent and holds up well (good quality). This is a natural option for fish enthusiasts without the worry of added colors leeching into the water. My only concern is that certain pieces of this gravel fizz when exposed to vinegar, which may indicate the presense of limestone or other pH-raising mineral. Not all the gravel caused the fizz - maybe 20% of it. Nothing to be alarmed about - shouldn't raise pH. I haven't noticed any pH swings since using this. It's good stuff.
My set up:
10-gallon glass tank w/ 6 female bettas.
5-gallon glass tank w/ 1 male betta.

Natural gravel is best for Betta. The fish colors will glow and your Betta is easy to locate when they hide. I purchase 5-pounds of smaller gravel and 1-pound of larger sized gravel for 5-gallon Betta aquarium.

I have this gravel in my 10 gallon aquarium. It is the best gravel out there and looks very natural! Just remember to thoroughly rinse it before adding to your tank

replaced gravel in my established tank.
clean, did not cloud water at all. I did rinse.
gravel is large and will not be vacuumed up during cleaning.
seems smooth. my bottom dwellers fins and barbels were damaged by old gravel. only time will tell if they grow back.
probly not good for real plants unless potted.
