CaribSea Flora Max Planted Aquarium Substrate
Rinsed 3 times and murky...
But I expected this, if you don't, maybe you haven't changed substrate in an established tank before, I'm sure it will clear in a few days. I had rocks and sand, but want to plant my tank, so I switched to this. Expectation is that it will hold my roots and help me move into aquatic plants.

Murky Water When Added--Be Careful
Instructions for adding this were very poor: The instructions don't say this but be SURE to rinse the substrate before adding it. I didn't rinse it and my tank water is a MESS and it'll be a miracle if it doesn't clog my filter. Will my plants grow better? I hope so, that remains to be seen.

Nice substrate. easy to clean. Looks great. We will see how long it lasts. After 4 days new growth of 2 inches on swords, and new runners on crypts. I do add CO2 and ferts.
Saved all of my plants from a disaster that was another substrate.

I love this rock. I was going to buy another planted aquarium gravel, but decided to get this instead. I bought 60 lbs of gravel for my planted 55 gallon aquarium. (4 packages) It says to pre-wash the rock, but I didn't and it wasn't even really cloudy. There are clarifying packets in the gravel which help keep the dust thrown up from the water from clouding the view (2 of 4 of mine were broken), and they worked wonderfully. My plants are greener and perkier than they have been in a while!
