Excellent starter cage
This is a great starter cage for the novice rat hobbyist. The price is decent for the size and quality, I don't agree that it is difficult to put together however, I found it fairly easy actually compared to other DIY items. I wouldn't recommend this cage for someone who has larger animals than rats though because I believe it would be to cramped for a ferret or other like sized pet. I have 2 rats in this size cage and might possibly be able to put in 1 more but probably won't because I think caged animals need plenty of room regardless of how much they are allowed free roam time. I highly recommend the Critter Nation cage for the more serious rat fancier or larger animals they are excellent sturdy cages and would last forever! I would have bought that one but didn't need that much cage for the 2 rats I have, I'm also limited on space. This cage is somewhat noisy with an attached water bottle on the side when they drink so if you need a quieter cage I wouldn't recommend this one. The slide out tray is nice to put litter in if you are using it that way with the grill over that, or you can remove the grill and and slide the litter tray in the grill slot. Do watch for burrs on the under side of the shelves and ramps, file if necessary. All in all this is a great cage and will last quite sometime. I would have given 5 stars if it was quieter and a little sturdier.

A pain to assemble, but still a good cage.
The cage overall is good. My other cage fell apart, which allowed my two male ferrets to escape. I bought this one as a replacement and so far no problems. The only thing I don't like is that it was kind of a pain to assemble because the parts are bendy and move around during assembly, but it holds together great once it is completely built. It's also really easy to clean.

Hard to assemble, loud iron cage
Overpriced and had to bend the wires to assemble properly. The ladders somehow make a bunch of noise against the cage, which is why I want to return it. There's no way to conveniently put in bedding.
