I have had this tank for over 2 years. This week I woke up to find all but about 15 gallons of the 60 gallons of water had leaked out and was on the floor of my living room. The structural corner seam had failed on this tank. I went back to Petsmart to see about getting a replacement tank. However the silicone seams on the one in the store looked pretty bad, even worse than what I had. I didn't feel good about buying another Marineland tank. Upon some research, I found many others with the same problem. Unfortunately the stand is also ruined now, because it is just made out of painted particle board. Once it gets in contact with a lot of water, its ruined.
Too bad, it looked like a nice setup, but is NOT a reliable tank in my opinion. I bought it on sale and thought it looked nice enough to give it a try. Next time will do my research first. I have kept aquariums for past 30 years, this is my first tank failure. What a mess! Go buy an Aqueon tank.

Just an FYI, don't fill the tank on this stand before you check that it is perfectly balanced. This ensemble is very attractive and after fixing everything should be okay. Unfortunately, this stand is completely off balance. The front of the tank is off by 3/4 of an inch and now that we fixed that part, we checked after putting gravel in, etc. and found that the left side is lower than the right. We never had any of this with our previous stand, therefore are really surprised. While this tank was on sale, it still isn't a cheap product, therefore did not expect this.

I got this tank, for my 92 year old grandmother who cant get around and hates whats on tv, for her birthday. I love it, now I recommend you get two 350 marineland filters. Also a heater thats 300 watts or more. And at minimum 4, 50lb bags of gravel. If using fake plants, the large will leave about 4-6 inches from top of water line. So I recommend extra large plants. A medium vacuum with hand pump works really well when cleaning gravel. I also enjoy the thickness of the glass of this tank, how well its put together. And the view it gives you of the fish.
I was lucky the stand was already put together when i picked it up from the store and i got it at a great discount. Thank for awesome sell on it. I would of never been able to afford it any other way.
Also i have found it and issue finding a background that will fit this tank, so at moment i have tin foil until i found one i like and it fits.
I recommend better lights then what are sold with the tank set up as well. The ones sold with tank are ok, but I plan to have live plants so I recommend better lights. Also i love it has four built in holes for air hoses placed in perfect places. The hood of the tank is ok i wish it had more room so the 350 marineland filters i have on it doesn't interfere with lights, but with careful placement they set right, just no extra room at all, and sometimes when lifting the lid to feed the lights get turned off. But thats a small price to pay to have the filtration system i wanted on it. Im very pleased with the 350's, i have double cartridges, and charcoal bags, and fine particle pads in each one. Due to amount of fish i habe in this tank. I realize its a little over kill, but it's difficult for me to do water changes due to a disability. So i have found setting up my filtration system like this, i have no problems with ph or ammonia levels, i always have crystal clear water. And i have 36 fish in this tank.
But over all, i love the look of this tank, the size of it. Out of all my aquariums this one has to be my favorite. I used a primer to get it started, and have had no big issues with adding fish. Also i enjoy in the stand it has an opening for all cords to be run threw it so i can have easy access to all the cords on my power strip.
The stand is very nice looking, I wish it was little bigger, but it serves it purpose very well.
I was looking at 55 gallon tanks, but when i came across the sell on this 60 gallon, i jumped on it.
I do recommend careful placement of this tank. You have to figure the tank itself weighs about 75lbs or more with stand, 4 bags of 50lbs gravel, and water= 755lbs estimated. I had to crawl under my house and see where my supports where and where i was sure the floor would hold up this kind of weight. I also reinforces the area the tank was placed just incase.
As soon as they run another special like the one i got with this tank with I'm getting another one to turn it i to a salt water tank.
I also love the help I received from my local petsmart in hot springs arkansas. They where very happy to assist me in getting this tank in my van, and getting everything i needed to set up this tank. I also love I'm able to order online and within 20 minutes run to the store and pick it up. Their customer service is A++++.
For someone like me, who has a disability and walking is very difficult for me, their great assistant and help everytime I order online is greatly appreciated. Plus there over the phone assistance is wonderful. They always answer every questions and when they dont know the answer they get their ipad out and quickly find the answer for me.
Im so greatful to have this local store and its great employees. And so greatful for the incredible online sell petsmart ran on this tank set up.
And also the fish are so healthy that i get from them.
Someone gave my grandmother fish from another big name pet store that i wont name, and all died within two days. Every fish purchased from petsmart are healthy and doing great.
So when wanting to purchase a tank, really look into purchasing this one.
Due to the awesome online sell i purchased this one for set up cost me around $250 for everything.
Now if i wouldn't of managed to get this sell it would have been around $500.
But after weighing out all my options 55 or 60, I'm so greatful i went with this tank. It was a Beautiful addition to my living room. And everyone who has seen it, are in love with it. And my grandmother spends hours just watching them. So to me it's priceless to see her enjoyment.
So when buying this tank make sure you have these items
Two- 350 marineland filtration system
Four- bags of 50lb gravel
Two- bags of four large or xlarge fake plants
One- minium 300 watt heater
One- decent size air pump
One- timer power-strip
One- bottle of prime or starter
One- bottle of water condistioner, to remove chlorine
Two- better 18in ligt bulbs depending on if you want live plants or not
Two- minium thermometers, i have four so i have two on top of each side of tank and two on bottom on each side of the tank, due to type of fish i have I monitor the temps very carefully.
One- complete water test kit. (But ive had no major issues with ph, or ammonia levels even woth the amount of fish i have in this tank due to the way i set up the filtration system for it) but always a good idea to have just incase you see issues.
Also i would make sure when placing gravel dont make it level, add dips and high to low areas.
And make sure where you place this tank it can hold at least minium of 800lbs
And about three hours to set. Let run for two days prior to starting to adding fish and have patience when adding fish, i recommend start off with less then 10.
The picture ive added to this, shows what 4-bags of 50lb gravel looks like, I recommend that being a minimum amount. My next water change i will be adding more.
(On a personal note, bala sharks i was told they would be fine in this size tank. Well after purchasing two and coming home doing research. I was very much suprised to find out they need minium 125 gallon tanks when full grown, they will get larger then a foot long!) oops, but i have a local aquarium that will be happy to take them once they get to large.

I was looking to replace a 55 gallon and stand that I had for years. This looked to be the ticket. I like that it is taller than what I had but when I arrived to the store to pick this tank and stand up, I was concerned on why it wasn't packaged up instead of being out of any cardboard or similar to anything you buy new. They said they comes like this. This could easy get scraped or scratch while in transit. (BTW I recommend you calling the store to see verify if it is in some kind of packaging). Lucky I pointed out this and a couple of store associates wrap and used cardboard to protect the corners and edges. Still after I got it home and cleaned all the dust (lots) of it I notice the glass was scraped and black plastic edging was scuffed. While in the store I didn't notice it because of the timing. Maybe if I had longer to examine it I would of caught it. The cabinet is press-board so it was peeling at the bottom, this I notice at the store. The store associate even said "oh that is press-board", no duh. Like the old saying you get what you pay for.
