1. The metal is aluminum, and it's hollow, so it isn't very strong. It will bend and break easily. 2. It won't stay screwed to the right. 3. It doesn't scoop the wet clay from the bottom of the litter box because (a) the tip of the scoop is not 'sharp' enough; and (b) the scoop should be flat near the tip, like a spatula instead of rounded. No matter how much litter is in the litter box, our cat always digs holes and pees at the bottom of the litter box, leaving wet clay at the bottom. There are 3 things that could make this litter scoop usable: 1. Stainless steel instead of cheap, hollow aluminum; 2. A flat, sharp edge, like a spatula; and 3. A handle that actually stays fastened no matter which way you screw it.

by redheadladyinms LOVE IT.... LOVE IT....
I have 7 cats and use 6 litter boxes. I have 6 of these scoops and use these scoops several times a day and I LOVE them. I have a very bad back and it is hard for me to bend over so I really like the fact that I do not have to bend over to scoop out their litter boxes. When I first brought these scoops I only brought one of them the very next day I went back and brought 5 more them. I highly recommend this product.

I don't know what others are talking about not strong enough, it works great unless you buy that cat litter that turns to clay/mush/mud. I have no problems at all with this scooper. I bought one for my house and I have 3 cats, now I am buying one for work because we have 2 cats there also. I do agree it would be even more awesome if it was made of metal, but mine has lasted with no problems at least 6 months now. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and by the way, I already have.

it is ok. Average strength and does not allow litter to strain quickly. the head is smaller than expected and did not realize it was plastic. Thought the litter scooper was all metal.
