Rated 1 out of 5 by MeezerMama Disappointing, runs only in circles, 5 min. max.
As stated, this toy runs only in a small circle, unless you fiddle with the plastic "legs" on the bottom, which can at times, though not always, make it run slightly longer distances before it doubles back and resumes circling. That being said, the cats will play with it, and would do so for long periods of time, if the darn things did not run through the battery power so fast. So, it is good for about five minutes play, max. Be prepared to buy plenty of batteries if you want to continue using it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by KathyOP Terrible - do not purchase
My cats used to love playing with a Hexbot Nano so when I saw this toy I thought it would be perfect. Boy was I wrong.
First of all the batteries, 3 mini watch batteries, were dead - even though the plastic tab was still in place. When I replaced the batteries the toy still would not run consistently and I had to repeatedly unscrew the bottom and fiddle with the batteries so that they would make a connection. I even tried bending the tabs inside the battery compartment to make the batteries more snug - no good.

I would not buy any Toys R Us brand toy. I purchased this and a laser pointer and both stopped working less than 10 minutes after they came out of the package. Their toys are really poor quality and I will be returning this product.

My cat is super picky when it comes to new toys so I didn't think he would really like this but gave it a try anyway. It turns out, he loves to watch it! He doesn't actually play with it much. He lightly bats it a couple times every so often but mostly just stays entertained watching it and following it. I didn't have the battery problems some of the other reviews mentioned. I've turned it on for about 15-20 minutes at a time about 4-5 times now and it's still going strong.
