Not worth the money. Cats loved chasing it on linoleum/tile floor, but once it got batted across the room it never moved again. Doesn't work on carpet.

I put the batteries in it and it ran for all of 10 minutes. Kitty's reaction? Not happy or playful with it at all. Annoyed, in fact. Just... annoyed.
And this is a cat who will pounce on anything that moves.... well, except for this, it seems. I'm going to return it for a refund.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Katso I bought this thinking National Geographic would have made something very durable and something my cats would love. It made for a cute Christmas stocking stuffer, but didn't live up to National Geographic's name. I have 3 cats between the ages of 5 and 8, all of whom would watch it, but not chase it or play with it. It gets stuck on the edges of the Oriental rug, and even along the very shallow grooves in my Congoleum kitchen flooring. It's only good on the hardwood floors, but it will pause every few steps before resuming. The center body cavity gets stuck on the locomotive wheels and I have to keep re-aligning that piece to get it running again. It's cool the way it senses obstacles and turns around, but my 3 cats are not engaging with it at all. If my guests hadn't thrown out the package, I would have returned it.
