We have 3 grown cats that all love this scratching post. Thankfully they prefer it over our furniture! Very durable and worth the money. Highly recommend.

The best cat scratching post I've ever owned. Have had it for 8+ years and it's still in good condition. Well worth the money. I came online to buy another for 2 new rescued brothers. Highly recommended.

I've had this for over a year and my 3 cats have still use it. It allows them to strectch to their full height and I have no worry about it tipping. It is heavy and balanced well.

This thing deserves more attention. No clue why they only sell it online. It's probably their best cat product.
I first noticed this at a friend's house because it looked pretty cool. Also, every time one of his 4 cats walked past it, they would start scratching, which was kind of amazing to me. I asked how he had taught all his cats to use it and he said that he just put it down on the floor and they started using it.
I've wasted money on a lot of cat scratchers that went unused (like those stupid ones you hang off the door handle). I have some that are only used incidentally while they are playing with catnip, but then they sharpen their claws on my rugs and chairs.
This is definitely pricier than I usually feel comfortable with when buying for felines, who tend to be more appreciative of paper bags than the elaborate toy you got them. But I had a gift card, so I bought it.
It's heavy for its size, assembles easily with a screwdriver (you have to attach the base to the pole). Real sturdy and well made. Taking no chances, I rubbed some catnip into the sisal and introduced the cats to it (the instructions suggest this). I have 6 rescue cats and they all use it, quite happily. I don't even bother with the catnip unless I want to give them a surprise. There was no "break in" period. Cats just like this thing. It was kind of like showing them where the litter box was. Easy peasy.
It doesn't magically keep them from clawing things in other rooms. They still sometimes go at my rugs in the other rooms. But when I say, "hey, please don't do that" they stop and go in the other room to use the scratcher. I'm pretty sure they are just using the rugs because they're immediately closer. They like the post because it's sturdy enough for them to stand up and stretch on when they claw it. It's as good as a tree.
If I could afford it, I would get one in every room. I certainly plan on getting more of these. The cats genuinely prefer it to other things. If you're on the fence, definitely buy it. They will absolutely use it. Especially if you have a couch you need to protect. This is one of those rare good buys.
