Petmate® Booda Dome Cat Litter box
Cats hate it!
I recently moved, and prior to moving I bought both of my cats a new litter box. I decided to get the Booda Dome boxes because they were a nice, compact size, but still very roomy inside...or so I thought. Neither one of the cats like their box. After moving into our new apartment, my male cat peed and pooped on the floor in front of his box, yet the female cat went in hers. The following day I woke up to the same mess from my male cat. I finally realized that his sides were being scraped by the opening, so I bought him the extra large-type of box he's more familiar with. This morning I got up to another mess on the floor, this time because my female cat is using the new, large litter box I bought for my boy, and is not going in the Booda Dome at all.
After spending $50 on new litter boxes, I now have to spend that again to replace the Booda Domes that are too small for my cats.
And for reference, my female cat is about 11 pounds and slender; my male cat is a little over 20 and is long, tall, and very stocky.

Can't imagine using another litter box
I bought this to replace 7 yr old Booda Dome box that finally met its maker. It has lasted through weekly scrubbing, heavt litter and has been used by 3 cats. My cat's do not like the dome, but I could care less about it. The walls of the base are 6" (inches) high which is super, considering I have a young cat with a long torso who can't aim for her life. When I cracked my old one (lifting it filled with litter and one hand slipped) I thought I would never find another one like it. Glad they still make the one without steps. As far as the dome, it's a hide and seek playhouse when propped on a towel or around a circular cat bed.

I recently bought a kitten ( 4 months) from Petsmart and i got this litter box and the cat has no problem getting in or out of the box.. i have never had any problem with leaking. All in All i would buy it again and for the people that arn't happy with the product simply just wash it out very good and take it back i had a cat box that was an open pan and i cleaned it and took it back told them why and they were fine. So try that!
Have a Great day!

Depends on how you use it
We are fostering two 5 month old kittens and bought this product because the base wasn't as high as some of the other litter boxes available. Since we don't keep the box covered, we don't have issues with over-edge leaking. We clean the litter box twice a day and sprinkle Arm & Hammer deodorizer a few times a week which negates the need to cover the box in first place.
The bottom line is this product is great if 1) you don't need to cover your litter box and 2) if you have a cat/kitten that has difficulty getting their back legs over the much higher edges of typical litter boxes. The round shape works better for cats who 'circle' to find the right spot.
