My friend and I tried this system and we tried everything with her cat, but when mine was done with my method - he passed it on so after 6 months getting no where with this, her cat did what I did with mine, in a few weeks since the cat understood the goal but not the product. I used a hard bowl and I used pellet litter (if you ever need to go - like at night and forget to move it...my voice of experience says you will like pellets not clay for that clean up..) this product let's the cat think up there is flat and bowls don't. It's always lower in the middle, and if you take 2 minutes twice a day to walk the seat for treats its super helpful! They won't let me give tips to help with training! Try thinking of cat as training a dog, use rewards - whatever they like, treats, toys, whatever- but food worked best for us.

by Ps4shawna Works better on Kittens rather than Cats
I had much better luck with kittens than I did with cats. I also live in St. Pete & would love to talk to SugarPearl about cats potty training.

I tried this with my 6 yr old cat. She never really took to it once there was an opening, beyond stage 1. Then she started pooping behind the toilet & regularly peed off the side. I gave it an honest try (7/8 months) & became tired of sweeping, mopping, scrubbing & cursing every night before bed. What's worse is now that I've given up & returned to my top entry box that she happily & successfully used for years, she is now peeing off the side & has been going in other places as well. I tried to use the website for troubleshooting advice, guidance & my acct was cancelled for no reason. I have a 4 yr degree in animal science & a strong behavior background. I think for a kitten or very young cat it could work fine. I would not recommend this for a mature traditional liter-trained cat, unless you want to risk giving them a complex & or potty anxiety.

Had doubts at first with cost and worried if my cats would use this (one is a kitten and the other one is 11 yrs old)
BOTH use this
needed to buy special wheat flushable litter
room no longer smells like a cat box
you are required to use another toilet or take this piece off and on when you need to go!
overall, I would purchase this product again
no more litter box
no more smell
both cats jumped right up and did their thing--still on the red ring
