I have two mastiffs who are now 2 1/2 yrs old. The current Kong crate pads I have lasted for over two years. Both of the dogs are chewers, one chews holes in walls. I have frequently washed these crate pads in my home washing machine with good results. Just recently, one of the pads developed a tear in the seam of the bolster and the wall-chewer worked at that seam until she could pull out the poly-fill. Considering my dogs are 170 lbs and 120 lbs, sleep in the crates at least 8 hrs per night and spend time during the day in them as they feel like it, these crate pads lasting 2 years is beyond my expectation. I am ordering a new pad to replace the torn one now and saw the bad reviews. I just wanted to share my experience with these crate pads. Unless the quality of the pads has deteriorated since my last purchase, I plan to continue using Kong crate pads.

Completely NOT durable! Torn up in less than a week! Not only did my dog get the edges ripped and fluff pulled out, but she was able to flip the pad upside down...in the crate...and rip the padding from the base. I've always had faith in kong products with durability, but this quickly changed my mind.

Bought this for my dog after he chewed up every one of my towels in his kennel. I figured this would be durable and something he could sit on that he couldn't chew up. My dog is an 9lb miniature dachshund and chewed into this and pulled the stuffing out in 2 hours!!! I would hate to see what a bigger dog could do to this if my little dog was able to tear a hole into it. It was a huge waste of $26.
