I got this for my German Shephard mix and she broke out of it twice. Would never recommend to anyone who doesn't want to chase after their dog when it breaks.

My husband and I got this collar to help leash-train our 4-month-old American Brittany Spaniel. It has made a huge difference. Taking her on walks in the neighborhood is so much more enjoyable because the training collar keeps her at our same speed, rather than tugging and charging ahead of us. It really has made a huge difference -- our fenced in backyard is not connected to our backdoor, so when we take the dogs out we walk them on their leash to yard -- we don't use the training collar when doing this and she already knows not to pull. Definitely recommend this training device. You won't need it forever and it will definitely help your pet!
P.S. We purchased the 18" collar for our Brittany pup who is about 20 lbs right now. I think the 14" would have been a good fit too.

I agree with the person who wrote a review about Use it Correctly!!! This is a training collar!!! Remember TRAINING COLLAR!! That means it requires you to take the time to spend with your dog training it!! A lot of dog owners don't realize training your dog 15 minutes a day makes a world of difference. I have XL German Shepherds and this is a fantastic training collar. I like it much better than the other style!!! I have trained GS for 13 yrs. (mine and my friends). And all dogs are trainable. Just spend time doing it.

i think those of you that are saying this doesn't work.... probably aren't using it properly. Its a TRAINING collar. Its not supposed to hurt your dog at all or stop them from pulling just because they feel the poking. You have to TRAIN them with it. Its not meant to be a regular collar to stop pulling during a walk. Collars like this are meant for training with a variety of skills. you can't depend on training wheels forever. you use them to LEARN then you take them off. simple.
