I have a Halti for my shepherd mix and it works great, so I got a Holt for my Boston terrier mix. His muzzle isn't as short as a full Boston, but it is still too short for this. It slips over his bottom jaw and gets in his mouth. When it is in his mouth he starts to chew and he almost chewed through it. His muzzle is about 3.5 inches from the end of his nose to the stop. This works best ononger muzzled dogs. I wish it worked for him because it gives great control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ginnie I have a female Akita and she is 100 lbs at 4 years of age and have had her since she was 4 mos old. As a puppy our walks were fun and she loved meeting other dogs and was still in "puppy mode" wanting to play and since dogs must be on a leash, unless in a designated fenced dog park, she learned to play with other dogs while on a leash, bad idea! As she grew it started to be her taking me for walks, always pulling and when she would see another dog ahead I was being pulled so hard that I would fall and started having so many bumps and bruises that our walks were no longer enjoyable and since I live in an area where it seems that everyone has a dog I started having to judge when I could take her out so that we would not run into other people walking their dogs. I'm sure that she was feeling my anxiety every time I saw another dog but now she thought she had to protect me and she was beginning to become aggressive towards other dogs and was pulling me down even more. I tried the pinch collar and had a halter on her too with a "double leash" attached to both but still had no control. Now I am not weak and in pretty good shape for a 67 year old woman but I only weigh 15 lbs more than her and she is just so much stronger and she could still pull me down when she would be startled or a passing car with a barking dog would go by. I was becoming worried that I could lose her because I was unable to control her on our walks and so the anxiety grew as we went out for our walks each day. I must tell you that she was never aggressive towards people, in fact she is afraid of a large crowd of people so I had no worries in that respect but another person walking a dog was a nightmare. I have had people telling me that this is the product that would work and one day a couple of women were sitting in their car and watching us and saw me pulled to my knees and one told me that she had had an Akita and that this was the collar I needed. I didn't listen because I thought it looked too flimsy and she also has a habit of sitting down like a "donkey" if she decides she is not going where I want to and I could not imagine how I would be able to get her to get up and walk with just something around her snout and behind her head. After reading all of the reviews one day I decided that for $19.99 what did I have to lose and if it didn't work I could return it. WOW! What a difference, she now walks beside me and I am the one in control not her. When walking down steep roads I no longer am being pulled and worrying that I could be pulled down onto my face because she is next to me and even when a cat darted out and she thought she was going to chase it she was stopped immediately because of the collar. I can't quit telling people about this product and have even had a friend purchase one for because of two broken arms and although the dog is small she can not have any pulling so this was perfect for her. All of those years wasted and the money I spent too when this was all I ever needed. THANK YOU!

I just this for my dog so I can throw my prong collar in the trash, at first he threw a huge temper tantrum, so I let him throw one for a while, he's getting used to it, the walks were SO smooth! I didn't need to correct him a single time, no pulling, to tugging, NOTHING. Bye bye prong collars and choke chains :) And I am leaving it on him for a few hours a day to get used to it, he's more behaved with it on for some reason...
If you buy it, DO NOT put it on and go walk. Put it on, let them do their thing, they'll accept it in a few days, only walk them inside the home until they stop fussing, train them, walk them and if they don't fight give them a treat, if they fight, don't. Keep doing this until the dog forgets he ever had it on.

by Zola Enjoy the walk!
Excellent product. Our 1 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback is surprisingly strong and did not respond to any of the usual training techniques to get her to walk without dragging her handlers.
Came across this harness: easy to adjust, easy to put on and astonishing result. As expected, our RR protested strongly against the harness, but after a handful of "I-am-having-a-panic-attack, take-this-thing -off-my-face"-episodes she calmed down and is now walking on the leash like a very well behaved dog.
Am going to buy a spare set.
