I've had three of these carriers for over 15 years, and have used them with 10 cats--7 of which were moved in these carriers under an airline seat from Los Angeles to Seattle. The cats weighed from 7-25 pounds, and these are still going strong (just used one this morning to take our new Siamese to the vet). Even at twice the price, these carriers would be worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by multiplecats Buying my 2nd one
I was coming back to get my second one and saw how bad the reviews are so I wanted to add that I love this carrier compared to my giant plastic one. Of course this totally depends on your cat, but mine all have their claws and range from 9-17 lbs. I use it mostly with the 17 lb boy and he does really well, even curls his paws around the pad to hold himself in place. The downside is cleaning a cloth carrier is more difficult, so if you have a troublesome traveler I would stick with the plastic, but this makes it so much easier to throw it over your shoulder and maneuver kitty. I'm getting the second one so I can carry 2 at the same time - not possible with the hard plastic one.

I truly think whoever made this carrier, must not have owned a cat in their entire life.
A cat can EASILY break out of this carrier. The mesh is very thin and not strong at all. I took one of my cats to the vet in this, and I was so scared he was going to get out. Unless your kitty is calm, then I definitely wouldn't recommend this carrier. But even for a calm kitty, things can happen. The mesh can easily rip from getting it caught on something.
There's also these metal or plastic rods things inside holding up the carrier, and they broke!
This carrier is absolutely not worth getting. Stick to the plastic ones!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JB369 Vet visit made easier
Once my boy got older playing in his carrier lost the fun and the battle began with putting him into the carrier. I brought this carrier a day before his visit to the vet and it took three times to get him in. But once in he didn't claw at the carrier trying to get out and he was not scream the hold trip I was even able to take him to PetSmart after the vet which was amazing. Thank you.
