I brought my mice home in this because I was worried they'd chew through the cardboard box on the drive. It's basically awful. I thought the girls were skittish when they were in it because of the transition from the pet store to my house, but when I put them back in a week later to clean their cage (with toys, treats, and some of the used bedding from their cage to make it smell familiar) they went nuts trying to escape. You may as well put your beloved pet in a plastic shoe box with a few nail holes in the lid.
I'm replacing this piece of junk with a larger travel cage that actually has room for those little extras like *food* and *water*, and will probably use this one to store extra supplies or something.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PetPerson000 Great Travel Cage
I know how everyone stresses that this is JUST a travel cage, and I agree, you shouldn't use this as a home for any animal. However, it is really obvious that this is a travel cage, it says it in the name, and I think people should not give this cage such a low rating just because they can't think enough to know that everyone knows it is a travel cage (it says it in the name!!!). This is a great hamster travel cage, don't listen to the haters! It has good quality and it allows all-around view to your pet, and has a fair amount of ventilation. Not to mention, it has easy access and it helps you easily carry your small pet anywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ChelseaLouise07 Very convenient for transport.
I've had this since my very first small pet. It's super convenient for travel - I used it to shuttle my little ones from my apartment to my parents' house when I would visit on weekends. I've found it's easier to just empty the actual cage completely before putting it in the car so you don't get bedding everywhere and put the little ones in this instead. Love this carrier.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Thea1 not a home and bad ventilation for travel
A hamster needs 360sq inches of floorspace for a cage to live in this is no were close to that. if you are gonna buy this for a travel cage think again since it has bad ventilation and even for a travel cage i suggest buying a bigger small cage so the hamster or animal won't feel scared.
