National Geographic™ Critter Dome Guinea Pig Cage
Very Nice pen
Always had all metal pens for my guinea pigs. This one is much nicer. Super easy to clean, and shavings don't escape. Metal top must be centered, and will settle after a few days, then the latches work fine. I don't use the food bowl and the hay bin. I am very pleased with this pen.

Good concept; poor execution.
My experience echoes the experience reported by previous reviewers. The cage has a nice design, and our guineas love to hide under the stairs. However, the cage top does not fit properly, and even more annoying and bothersome is the water bottle. It leaks all over the place, creating a soggy mess and necessitating constant changes of the bedding. After two days I got fed up and bought a replacement bottle. Instantly life got so much easier. There is simply no excuse for including such a leaky bottle in this not particularly inexpensive product!

Attractive design...but only okay and not awesome
I purchased this cage about 4-6 weeks ago for my first guinea pig (an adult)...but recently made a decision to replace it. Pros: It IS an attractive design for a small critter cage and I did like this. I like that they include all the "basics": a food dish (which hasn't tipped over), a water bottle (more about this below) and a hay bin. The hay bin, especially, has worked great! My pig has LOVED the "hiding space" below the shelf when he wants to be alone...but climbs up the shelf to hang out when he's feeling more social. Super easy to clean...just pop the top off and dump basin contents. I saw other comments RE: cracking on the basin, but my has been just fine. Cons: While not hard to assemble, the top wire portion has never quite "fit right" onto the basin/where it should latch...while my pig cannot escape from the cage, this is annoying. The water bottle DID leak excessively, but I should note that this only happened the first 2 times I filled it and since then has been great (following the advice of filling it full, squeezing it gently and putting it in its place gently/just so has worked). For an adult guinea, it is kind of small unless your pig gets lots of time outside of the cage...I am upgrading to a larger sized cage and "didn't know better" before, as this was my first guinea.

Very Nice looking, but has a few problems.
I recently purchased this cage for my new Guinea Pig. He absolutely adores it, in my opinion. He loves the fact that he can just hide under the stairs; its his little safe place. I loved the cage as well, mainly because its not too big, its organized, and I've never seen a cage like it. The downside of the cage is that a week after I purchased it, the bottom started to crack around the edges. I now have to return it and I most likely wont be getting the same cage. The water bottle that comes with it also leaks a ridiculous amount, which ruins the bedding and makes it a complete soggy mess for my little pig. I wish i could keep the cage but it has too many problems. Other than that, if they could get those details fixed, it would be a great cage.
