National Geographic™ Critter Dome Hamster Cage
Boring for Syrians!
I bought this cage for my first hamster (Syrian) and all he would do was bite on the bars and break the wheel off which was way too small anyways. I exchanged this for the crittertrail 2 and it's much better.

Very nice cage, too small for syrians or gerbils
I bought this cage for my new Winter White hamster, Mochi, and it fits him quite well. That being said, I wouldn't put anything other than a dwarf hamster or a fancy mouse in here. The wheel is way too small for a Syrian ham, and I can see everything else being a little too cramped as well. Gerbils also need a larger wheel and more room to dig.
The design of the cage is wonderful and eye catching. It's very natural looking and gives my hammy many places to hide, and all of the new Nat Geo toys and accessories look great in it :) I'm not a fan of Crittertrails, they're kinda gaudy and way too small, so the odd shape and neutral colors of the Critterdome are super appealing to me. Luckily, my water bottle does not drip but that seems to be a common problem. It's a little challenging to set up and the actual door to open the cage is kinda clunky and hard to open but all around a sufficient and great looking cage :)

Would reccomend for syrian hamsters
My new hamster loves this cage and I find that it has a lot more usable space for him than other cheaper cages, which is absolutely necessary for hamsters. (at least 2 square feet of space is recommended by vets). It is also layed out nicely with all the things it includes (waterbottle, food dish, wheel, hut) and there is still space for his toys. He likes having privacy and usually sleeps under the shorter platform or under the stairs instead of the hut but seems to enjoy his home. The way the food dish sits down in a hole is good because then he can't flip it over while hes eating. The entire space is larger and better looking than pictures show. The only set back to this product is that the included water bottle is quite small and leaks a tiny amount. And the stand for the water bottle puts it too close to the bottom so with bedding in the bottom, he has to lay down to drink which they are supposed to need to stand to reach it so they drink easier. Also, the top of the cage does not line up perfectly with the bottom and the clips take some struggling to get on and off.

Cage is very difficult to open for children, even older children. Water bottle LEAKS!!!!! Not just a drip but literally empties completely out!! Not recommended.
