This is a great starter kit cage for a guinea pig, spacious and the water bottle is durable (better than the one that comes with the hamster one we had to replace that one for it is very flimsy and leaked) and love that the food bowl attaches to the cage so they can't tip it over. I read other reviews and took a tip from another reviewer, the ramp is a bit slippery for them, definitely put a towel or some kind of a cloth over the ramp so they can go up and down without a problem. After we did that the guinea pig runs up and down the ramp now without a problem.

So I bought this cage for my two baby girls...Lucy and Wyntr . They were guinea pigs and they were still very small. They liked it but I felt as they were kind of scared to go up the ramp. So here is where problems start. The ramp is very hard for them to go up, as its very slippery. The hay holder is dropping hay everywhere. I actually like cleaning up after my girls but you couldn't walk near the cage without hay flying everywhere. The top tray came off a lot until one of the latches wore out. It's not easy to clean at all so to save you the little $60 please don't get it. Like I'm helping you out... Lol

so i have 3 guinea pigs and another on the way who is pregnant and i love these cages . All my guinea pigs are in separate cages because they dislike each other i use the rabbit size cages for the adult guinea pigs and the babys in the guinea pig size one (until they get bigger) then i have 2 gerbils they have the hampster size one and love it my 3 dogs ar very nice and wouldnt hurt anything love the cages to because the sound doesnt hurt there ears and it also dosnt scare the guinea pigs so overall it is very easy to open, its a complete starter kit.and it a little small for adult guinea pigs

please do not torture your guinea pig by putting them in this tiny cage. I only bought it as a temporary cage while waiting on the bigger one in the mail. The smallest recommended cage for a piggy is 7.5 sq ft (such as the midwest habitat) and even then they need lots of floor time. Guinea pigs need lots of exercise and love to run and popcorn, and this simply does not give them room to do so. It is a decent quality cage, but please only use it if you have a sick pig that needs to be separated. Also, the wire part is almost impossible to reattach to the base once you've removed it for cleaning.
