I was extremely happy with this product with the blue backing. Now that it has been changed to the brown backing, I'm not happy at all. The quality has been compromised. I still have a few blue backed pads, and it's easy to see and feel the difference. The brown backing is a lighter plastic, and the pad is thinner. It appears that this change may have been made in order to reduce the price a little. The reduction in price is negligible, and has nothing to do with why I was buying this product. l am at the end of my first box of brown backs, and will be shopping elsewhere for a better quality oversize pad. Should the original quality be returned (even if needs to be labeled premium, or something), I will be interested in purchasing it again.

I've been buying these extra large pads in boxes of 150 for years, for my older incontinent dogs, rescue dogs, puppies, etc. They were the very best. But recently instead of a thick pad with an effective blue plastic liner, the pads are thin with an ineffective tan liner. Urine rolls off the edge and under the liner onto the floor. Sometimes I put one pad on the floor with the liner facing up and another on top with the liner facing down, to keep the floor dry. I won't buy these again unless the quality returns to what it was in the past. By the way, the boxes now contain 160 pads instead of 150, so I guess that shows how much thinner the new ones are. I would rather have 150 effective pads than 160 pads that don't function like they should.

I have two small dogs that are home for 8 hours a day. The original blue pads worked great for them. The newer boxes with the brown pads are just not as absorbent as the blue one. Hope they go back to the original pads or might have to find a different brand.

I purchase wetting pads for my inside dogs, but have a major problem with the urine running off the edge and getting my floors wet. The only such pan that Petsmart sells leaks where it folds in half. Midwest make a great pan to accommodate the crates they manufacture and they should make urine pad pans to accommodate leaking urine pads. If you had such pans beside the urine pads you would sell many.
