by SunnyBlu Good cage but should be larger
I bought this for my 2 rescue guinea pigs. They are perfectly fine in there but I give them 2-3 hours a day of play time in their "pen" - which is actually a dog pen. The cage is much too small for the piggies to live in 24/7 because they can't get any exercise in it. But it is comfortable and cozy. I had to lower the shelf because, as others have said, the plastic ramp is too slick and they slide on it - not good traction. I just lowered the shelf and they sleep under that like a hidey house, and with the lower shelf the ramp is not so steep and they can even hop up on the shelf (at least the younger one can). I keep their food bowls on the shelf. Plenty of room for my two piggies, but they must have exercise room outside the cage. I'm not using the food bowl that came with the cage as it appears to be really deep and hard for the pigs to access. Also the hay manger is too messy and hay falls all over my floor so I don't use that. I use the bottom of a clay pot sitting on top of the bedding material to hold the hay.

This cage is much too small for even ONE guinea pig. The minimum cage size should be 7.5 square feet (30"x36" for example).

its a good cage for a baby guinea pig but when they get older you will need a upgrade. my guinea pig liked the cage but then he got too big for the cage.

This cage is not meant for guinea pigs. If you want a starter kit for guinea pigs choose the rabbit version of this cage and just ask the people at petsmart to switch the food out for guinea pig food. Please dont buy guinea pig starter kits for 2 or more guinea pigs.
