Yay No Feeder Mice
I actually bought my mouse from another pet store as a "rescue" from being a feeder mouse. I just wanted to congratulate Petsmart on not selling mice as snacks for reptiles. I think selling mice to be eaten is wrong, and glad that this store agrees with me.

I have found that mice like to be kept in pairs of 2 or more, they are very social and do a lot better with a cage mate.

I think these are amazing pets. Mice dont live that long but the whole point about buying a mouse or hamster or any pet is to give it the best life even if u have it for 2 weeks or 2 years. I am extremely happy with PetSmart for selling mice as pets not feeders. I am soon going to get into saving feeder mice and rats because its so cruel and i dont care if they have less of a chance of living more then 2 weeks, As long as those 2 weeks are the better outcome of horrible people who think live feeding isnt the slightest bit wrong or cruel. These Mice are very friendly, a little skittish and they are overall one of the best pets u can own. Im sorry for rambling but i think i need to draw awareness to Live Feeding and help people understand that its cruel. Anyways, These are overall great pets and i highly recommend these mice.

I purchased my fancy mouse about 7 months ago and she is just the best! She is very entertaining and loves to explore. She originally had only one cage because she is only one mouse, but then as time went on I figured she was getting pretty bored of the same toys and mazes-so I bought her another cage (not quite as big/complex as her main cage) and hooked them up to each other with 'fun-nels'. I filled the 2nd cage up full of toys ('Puzzle Playground', 'Roll-a-Nest', tubes, etc.) and she absolutely went crazy over it! She had a blast running from her 1st cage, through the tubes, and into her 2nd cage, over and over again.
Her temperament is excellent and she has never bitten me (or anybody else I let pet/hold her), and she is extraordinarily smart! I spent just a couple minutes with her each day, training her to go through a hoop, and she learned so fast it was unbelievable. And on top of all those fabulous traits-she is ADORABLE! Now, because of fancy mice's temperament, how docile they are, and they are easy to take care of, I would recommend them to children +6 maybe (with the assistance of an adult). But given that they are SUPER fast movers and are very intelligent animals, I would have to say +12 (if they wanted to independently handle the mouse's care). Overall great pets, highly recommended!
*Heads Up: since they obviously are nocturnal, I would seriously consider purchasing a 'Silent-Spinner' or 'Flying Saucer', because they are crazy hyper beyond believe at night and could possibly keep you up (depending on the behavior of the specific mouse).
**I also recommend 'Mineral Chews' for your mouse. I have tried loofah, wood, and all different types of chews, but she doesn't love anything more than mineral chews (especially the cupcake one)!
Good Luck! :)
