My little Robo named Strudel just passed. My cage was not secure enough, and my most recent rescue cat, Luna opened it up and killed her. They make great pets, though. I'm planning on getting a cage that's more secure and getting a pair of little Robos. They're not great for snuggling, as they're very active. They make a great little friend to watch play and run around, though. With patience and trust, they can make great little snuggle buddies. They are the smallest species of hamster, but they're the most active species of hamster and need a really big cage and lots of toys and playpen time. They need at least 360 square inches of floor space as any hamster does, but the bigger the better. Never bathe your hamster, use childrens play sand or Chinchilla sand. Do lots of research before welcoming any hamster or animal into your home. There are hamster forums online. There are also some channels that have good hamster care on YouTube. Such as : HoppingHammy, ErinAnimals, Chocolateclolors26. Good luck with your Robo!

Bought two female robo dwarf hamsters and found out one of them was actually a male. Really frustrating because I can't house them together like I had planned. They are very fun to watch play and run on their wheel though. Just check the gender before you buy.

I was not sure on which type of dwarf hamster to get, but once seeing all of them, this type stood out. I was playing with the 4 in the habitat, and one started to crawl up my arm! She was the one, and i named her Lucy! She is active at night, but im trying to train her to swiTch her schedule. She can be kinda finicky when i dont play with her for a day and than try to pick her up, but after awhile she warms up. She runs so fast and is such a joy to have! I keep her in an open wire cage in my small dorm room, and she has never smelled bad once! Im also working on potty training as well. Such a joy to have, really fun and keeps you busy! She is pretty quiet too!

I received my hamster about three years ago from a Petsmart. The guy told us to not pick him up right away and just let him get used to his new surroundings. I would suggest putting some dirty clothes on the cage to get the hamster used to your scent. They are very energetic and make sure to get a non squeaking wheel! They love to run a bunch in the night! My hamster recently passed away and he was a great little guy. I would just suggest spending as much time as you can with them after they get used to you because they can go quick. And they love to be outside their cages. They are escape artists too so be careful! Your finger should not be able to fit through the bar all the way. If it can, they can escape. If their head fits, they fit.
