Just purchased this stand and yes it was very time consuming to assemble but I rather put something like this together myself than have someone else do it and not be sure if they are taking the time to do it right. The instructions were unclear at times but nothing you can't figure out if you are taking the time to read. There were a ton of screws and brackets...enough that I feel confident this will hold the weight of my 75 gallon tank. The doors were not aligning correctly but after playing with them for a while I managed to get them to fall in place. Over all this is a good stand for the price. I have had a Top Fin stand in the past and have never had issues with it. It is a very pretty style as well...one of the nicest in my opinion.

Terrible quality, extremely tedious and frustrating to put together. The whole thing is made of faux wood and covered in wood grain contact paper. After less than a year, two of the lower shelves started to bow. Once it's assembled they suggest that you never move it from it's location.
Well, I'm moving to another state and am not about to take this monstrosity apart! I told my husband to take it to the dump and we'll buy another one when we move. I'll probably go with metal next time after such a bad experience with this 500 pound piece of junk!

This is a nightmare to put together and the instructions are not done very well. Most of the pieces were not even labeled.
There was some water under the tank that I did not see and the top started to chip apart.
What ever you do - do not get this stand.

I don't know why they are selling this as a tank stand. The back is closed, so there is no way to run hoses, a filter, or even power cords. Even if I decided to cut holes in the back, the shelves are too small to be of much use. This is easily damaged by water. I wouldn't even say this is a decent book shelf because of the poor quality of the materials. Every single piece had to be touched up with a wood marker, and one door was so damaged that we had to wait 2 weeks for the company to send a replacement. Even with properly following the poor instructions, the doors still hit the side of the stand when opened. I would have loved to return this, but my husband was so frustrated after assembling this that he would not take it apart to return. He is an engineer by trade and handy around the house, so it isn't like he didn't know what he was doing. It still took him several hours spread over 3 days to put it together.
