Being new to this hobby, this was the first lighting fixture that I purchased for my 46 gallon bow front aquarium. I learned that the lighting that came with the Nat Geo Aquarium wasn't sufficient for growing plants effectively. Hence, I purchased the Nat geo deluxe 24-36 inch lighting. Of course being new to the hobby I was taken back by the pricing for lights. Lol. Nonetheless, these lights brightened my aquarium, had a timer, and was reliable. Today, the lights went out. When in push a button, it just flashes. The unit no longer works. Out of the clear blue sky, just like that!! It no longer works. I am disappointed. I guess I expected a quality product that would last for more than~9 months. When I get my replacement, tomorrow, I will pay a little more money for a known, established brand that will last. To date, I have 8 aquariums. I did purchase another Nat geo light because I hadn't had any problems with my first purchase. I know now to prepare to have to replace a 48 inch fixture in a few months.

Expected an LED to last more than a year. Sorry I spent the extra money for it now.

For the price this product was a complete failure. Do not buy. Sure it is pretty. The programming wasn't to complicated, but keep the instructions. The problem was the light flashed out after 10 months. The timer still works, but as soon as it switches times the light will briefly flash then go out. Very disappointed I did not stick with fluorescent lights. Spend your money on something else.

This light was perfectly bright for our 75 gallon tank, and the blue and white light programming options were nice. The programming sequence is a bit weird, so keep the owner's manual.
But, the white lights completely failed after 9 months. The light never got wet. The blue lights still work fine.
So, if you don't mind spending $150 on LED lights that should last 10 years, but fail in less than one year, whip out that credit card and go to town.
Me? I'll never buy this brand again.
