I was looking to replace a 55 gallon and stand that I had for years. This looked to be the ticket. I like that it is taller than what I had but when I arrived to the store to pick this tank and stand up, I was concerned on why it wasn't packaged up instead of being out of any cardboard or similar to anything you buy new. They said they comes like this. This could easy get scraped or scratch while in transit. (BTW I recommend you calling the store to see verify if it is in some kind of packaging). Lucky I pointed out this and a couple of store associates wrap and used cardboard to protect the corners and edges. Still after I got it home and cleaned all the dust (lots) of it I notice the glass was scraped and black plastic edging was scuffed. While in the store I didn't notice it because of the timing. Maybe if I had longer to examine it I would of caught it. The cabinet is press-board so it was peeling at the bottom, this I notice at the store. The store associate even said "oh that is press-board", no duh. Like the old saying you get what you pay for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sumie Major design flaw but a good tank!
I love this aquarium and more importantly my fish love it but there is ONE major defect in this product - Canister Filters, like the Fluvial 306 that we use, doesn't fit in the cabinet unless you cut out a hole to drop it into. This is fine if you are a handy person, the matte black color of the bottom of the canister blends very well and is barely visible hanging out underneath but it's a marginally tidy set up and a total hassle when it's time to fool with the canister. I suppose you could have some Whisper filters hanging off the back but the whole set up looked very awkward and ugly pulled out to fit it all the junk in the trunk.
The cabinet space is much tighter than it looks (even in person it will fool you) you'll quickly run out of room with the wires, hoses, power strip bar, chemicals, various fish foods, and other fishy healthful additives and test kits that should be kept hidden or close at hand for regular use. So take this into consideration also if you are considering this model and are OCD about keeping everything together because there will be no room for extras.
Once you get past the human hassles the fish really love this tank, we've been able to recreate many micro environments with this large tank: hidey holes, dense cover, mini surface rapids, and so on. With this large size tank it really feels like a happy and relaxed community with a good variety of interesting residents.

I bought this tank and stand from my local Petsmart and could not be more pleased. This tank cycled in 10 days (no joke) and I have a "Lord of the Rings" theme with Barbs, Rainbow Sharks, Red Fin Sharks, Cory Cats, Yo-Yo Loches, & Catfish. Plus the stand has alot of room for storage.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND (2) 70 GALLON FLUVAL FILTERS.
A MUST BUY AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Oscarkeeper I purchased this tank and stand online about 3 weeks ago now and so far so good . I have mine sitting on carpet with no problems . I filled mine slowly through out the day to give it time to settle . I also purchased two aqueon 55/75 HOB filters and they are keeping the water nice and clean which is good since my Oscar is very messy . As I said I did purchase this online and picked up 30 minutes later at my local petsmart . Everything was ready and at the door waiting for me to get there and the manager even wrapped the stand in plastic for me so it didn't get wet on the ride home . over all experience was great .
