by 5teve0 Right sized grasshoppers for red eared sliders
I'm a fan of these canned treats by Fluker's and keep a sealed can of each inside my aquarium stand at all time for my red eared sliders. When I purchased these Gourmet Style Grasshoppers, I was expecting gigantic cooked insects in the can, like Zoo-Med's Can 'o Grasshoppers. I was delightfully wrong. The insects are probably 1.5" long at most, making it the perfect size for a juvenile red eared slider to eat in one bite. The Zoo-Med version were too big, encouraging the RES to rip it apart and cloud up the water at the same time. I feed my RES three grasshoppers each about twice a week in addition to their daily diet. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BeardieBob My Beardie Bob loves the Flucker's line. Especially these! She goes wild when she sees the can (or hear the can shaking) and will not wait for my son to put them in her bowl. She loves to be hand fed these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Silberlied Excellent for (Large) Beardies
Since locusts and grasshoppers are a bearded dragon's main source of protein in the wild, I decided it wouldn't hurt to see if mine would even be interested in dead ones. Turns out she loves them as much as live! I'm really picky about what she can eat (only fresh organic foods or live crickets), but I see no harm in these grasshoppers. Gourmet? Yes.
Just keep in mind that they are quite large and should not be given to bearded dragons or other reptiles younger than 6 months or smaller than 15 inches or so.
