ZOO MED™ Reptile Basking Spot Lamp
DO NOT BUY!!!
About a month ago, I bought a two-bulb value pack so I would be able to replace a bulb once it burnt out. The first one I used burnt out this morning, so I went to replace it. The second bulb did not work AT ALL, and when I tried to unscrew it, THE BULB BROKE. I'm very disappointed in this product and I will not be buying it again.

I had to replace 3 lights in two weeks.
The lights work great for the heat, but they are terrable on how long they last. I had to buy three bulbs in two weeks.

how i saved my bearded dragon
my arnold was acquired by my college student, whom left at home for me by SURPRISE.Now i dont even like spiders!Accidently i fed lettuce, and found him lethargic and so helpless looking.Ihad to pick him up,i realized after online search, that i was using an ordinary house bulb.I purchased the correct lamp and after falling in love with arnold,he began to improve.Environment is now for him as well as diet,LOL.I learned to care and love this 6 month old pet,my son will never get back!!Thanks for all the right products!

Not sure why so many people have these burn out after 3-4 weeks.
While they don't last forever, I get 4-6 months out of them at 10-12 hours per day. I usually stock up when they are on sale or I have a coupon and buy the multipacks when I can, so they are not that expensive.
They do a good job of heating my tanks and I get comparable life out of them when compared to more tradition bulbs form the home improvement stores. All things being equal, I would rather use something designed for reptiles.
Only reasons I can think of why they don't last for some is that they move the light around a lot, maybe because they use an aquarium with a screen lid and have to take it on and off every time they go in the tank or they directly touch the bulbs when they screw them in and leave skin oil residue on the bulb--try using a towel to install the bulb and not directly touch it. No oil, no hot spots, longer bulb life :-)
I use these in all of my tanks (5) with wattage's ranging from 50-150. Reptiles include Bearded Dragon, Veiled Chameleon, Leopard Geckos, Anoles and a Crested Gecko.
