Directions for Feeding:
Weaning Formula has been designed to meet the nutritional
needs of young kittens being weaned from their mother, or
bottle-fed kittens progressing to solid foods. For best results, the
product should be mixed with ready to feed GNC Ultra Mega
Premium Milk Replacer to give the consistency necessary to
achieve adequate food consumption. If Premium Milk Replacer is
not available, water may be used. Reconstituted powder should
be lapped out of a bowl. Any uneaten reconstituted powder
should be discarded after two hours. It is recommended that
Weaning Formula be fed until kittens are seven or eight weeks
old when they can be fed commercial kitten or cat food as
desired.
Kitten's Weight and Amount of Weaning Formula Per Feeding
- ½ lb (227 g) - 2 teaspoons
- 1 lb (454 g) - 4 teaspoons
- 1.5 lbs (681 g) - 2 tablespoons
- 2.5 lbs (1235 g) - 2 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon
- 3 lbs (1362 g) - 1/4 cup
Mixing Directions:
Determine the amount of Weaning Formula to
be fed to the kitten at each feeding using the weight chart
above. Reconstitute powder by using three parts (a part is any
measuring device, i.e. teaspoon, tablespoon or cup) water to one
part powder for the first few days. This will make a thin gruel.
Offer only small amounts and remove the uneaten portion within
two hours. As kittens grow, decrease the amount of water mixed
with the powder until weaning food is an oatmeal consistency.
Fresh, clean water should always be available for drinking.
