Directions for Use:
All puppies should receive their mother's milk for at least 2 days, if possible. This first milk gives extra nutrition and temporary immunity against some diseases. Warm reconstituted formula to room or body temperature (do not use a microwave to warm reconstituted formula). Feed puppies 2 tablespoons of liquid per 4 oz of body weight. The daily feeding rate should be divided into equal portions for each feeding. The puppy's needs will vary and this amount may have to be increased or decreased depending on the individual. Small or weak puppies may need to be fed every 3 to 4 hours, while larger and/or older do well when fed formula every 8 hours. Weigh the puppies daily to assure adequate feeding. Consult your veterinarian for additional advice. Not for human consumption. When a food supplement is desired for growing postweaned puppies, show dogs, supplementing large litters, and old, or convalescent dogs, powder should be fed at a rate of 1 teaspoon per 5 lbs. of body weight.
Pregnant and lactating dogs: Mix powder into the daily ration at the rate of 2 teaspoons per 5 lbs. of body weight until 2 weeks after whelping.
Reconstituted formula must be kept refrigerated for up to 24 hours. Opened powder must be refrigerated for up to 3 months or can be frozen for up to 6 months.
Warning: If puppy develops diarrhea, does not gain weight, cries constantly, or becomes lethargic, take to a veterinarian.
