How it works
The Litter-Robot automatically cleans itself after every use, making it easy to keep your cat's litter box clean. A spacious globe provides a large area for your cat. It accommodates cats up to 15 lbs, although larger cats have adapted to the Litter-Robot without problems.
Using a weight sensitive switch, the Litter-Robot starts a cleaning cycle seven minutes after your cat leaves the box. It sifts out the clean dry litter from the smelly, wet soiled litter. A safety mechanism prevents the Litter-Robot from operating when your cat is inside. As an additional safety feature, the globe rotates very slowly during the cleaning cycle. If your cat tries to re-enter during the cleaning cycle the motor will shut off automatically.
The patented sifting method gently removes the odor causing clumps from the clean, dry litter and deposits them into the waste drawer. No rakes to clog, jam or clean. The Litter-Robot was designed to work with inexpensive standard 8 and 13 gallon kitchen garbage bags - those larger grocery bags work very well, too. Simply change out the garbage bag once a week, or every few days if you have multiple cats.
The Litter-Robot accommodates a wide variety of litters, not just the premium clumping clay litters. Litter Crystals, Pearls, and most bio-degradable litters also work well in the Litter-Robot allowing more choices for you and your cat (Note: Does not work with Feline Pine). Cleaning the Litter-Robot is also a breeze. Just empty the litter, lift the globe from the base and clean with soap and water. No electronic components are located within the globe. Combined with odor absorbing carbon filters, the Litter-Robot provides an excellent solution to keep litter box odors at bay.
The unit comes almost completely pre-assembled; simply put together the globe and base unit, plug in the 12 Volt AC adapter, add litter (sold separately), and follow the instructions to program your unit with the electronic control panel.
